Using the SynergyTMHT to Measure Time-Resolved Fluorescent Compounds
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Introduction Under many experimental conditions autofluorescence of the sample or the microplate can cause unwanted background fluorescence. High background results in variable inter and intraexperimental signals, as well as a decrease in sensitivity. While several options are available to reduce background fluorescence, including the use of low-background microplates and different excitation and emission wavelengths, these measures often fail to adequately reduce the background signal. Another approach to this problem is to use time-resolved fluorescent reagents.

Quantitation of Peptides and Amino Acids with a SynergyTMHT using UV Fluorescence
Introduction Eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells contain a number of compounds that are fluorescent with UV light excitation. Proteins and peptides, with aromatic amino acids are intrinsically fluorescent when excited with UV light. Many enzymatic cofactors, such as FMN, FAD, NAD and porphyrins, which are also intrinsically fluorescent, add to the protein fluorescence. These moieties have a common...
متن کاملSize Distribution Measurement of Candle\'s Soot Nanoparticles by Using Time Resolved Laser Induced Incandescence
Time resolved laser induced incandescence (LII) technique is used to measure size distribution of soot nanoparticles of candle's flame. Pulsed Nd:YAG laser is used to heat nanoparticles to incandescence temperature and the resulting signal is measured. Mass and energy balance equations are numerically solved to calculate temperature of soot particles in low fluence regime. Assuming Plank black ...
متن کاملDetermination of Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) Using Amplex® Red and the SynergyTMHT Microplate Reader
Introduction Enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) have been used to quantitate a wide range of compounds and pathogens for almost 40 years. Initially radioactivity was used to quantitate the assays, but radioimmunoassays (RIA) have been replaced with assays utilizing enzymes to obtain colorimetric results. Recently new substrates have been developed to produce fluorescent and luminescent ...
متن کاملQuantitation of Cholesterol using a Fluorometric Assay and the SynergyTMHT Multi-Detection Microplate Reader
Introduction Cholesterol and Cholesterol esters are significant constituents of blood born lipoproteins. Elevated levels of these components have been linked to atherosclerosis and heart disease. As a result, a large research effort has been put into understanding cholesterol homeostasis and ways of lowering cholesterol levels. Quantitation of cholesterol in experimental samples is paramount to...
متن کاملINTRINSIC FLUORESCENT COMPOUNDS IN ARMILLARIA MELLEA; HYPHAE AND RHIZOMORPH
The organic solvent extraction of Armillaria mellea showed different highly intrinsic fluorescent compounds either in rhizomorph or in hyphae (F , F , F , MF , MF and MF ). The characterization of ultraviolet and fluoro-spectrophotometry of these compounds has been exhibited. Thin layer chromatography and fluorescent spectrum of hyphae and rhizomorph indicated an additional compound (FH) ...
